Founded and directed by Henry de Salengre, a hospitality veteran from the South West of England, who was captivated by the dramatic surrounds of Central Otago, settling in Queenstown, New Zealand in 2016.
With a thirst for knowledge he gained the flagship WSET Lv 4 Diploma in Wines & Spirits with merit in 2020, tutored by Jane Skilton MW. After time cutting his teeth in cellar doors, managing hospitality venues and orchestrating wine & beverage programmes for groundbreaking multimillion dollar hospitality precincts he was still left unfulfilled.
The next logical move was to follow his heart, to spark a renaissance of wine offerings for the modern hospitality and retail landscape in New Zealand, and so together with co-founder Blake Sinclair who provides the prowess with numbers, the spark turned to a flame, establishing South Pour in September 2025.
